About the Role

We are seeking a thoughtful, collaborative writer to help expand content output while preserving the authentic, compassionate voice of our client. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives on transforming spoken interviews and research into accessible, empowering, and emotionally resonant content.

You'll work closely with the founder, often turning transcripts of interviews with doctors, researchers, and survivors into narrative-driven newsletters and companion social media content. If you're energized by storytelling with purpose and nuance—and especially if you have an interest in alternative medicine or cancer research—this could be a great fit.

Scope and Duration

• Commitment: 45 hours/month to start, with potential to increase
• Duration: 6 months
• Location: Remote (must overlap with Mountain Time Zone hours)

Responsibilities

• Write and edit 2–3 email newsletters per week (typically 500–1,000 words), derived from transcripts, audio recordings, or video content
• Develop accompanying Twitter/LinkedIn posts (1–2 per newsletter) that engage audiences and drive traffic
• Collaborate directly with the founder in an iterative content development process
• Conduct light research on alternative therapies, protocols, and supporting studies (especially via PubMed)
• Maintain a tone that's warm, clear, grounded, and free of jargon, while still delivering substance
• Optionally support book manuscript development and blog content for related brands
• If capable, collaborate with a designer or provide light formatting/graphic guidance to elevate article presentation

You Have

• Exceptional writing skills—especially in editorial newsletters, digital storytelling, and audience engagement
• Empathetic communication skills with the ability to connect with overwhelmed, non-medical readers
• Comfort turning medical/technical transcripts into digestible, emotionally intelligent prose
• Experience writing from video/audio inputs and adapting voice across channels
• A strong collaboration ethic—welcomes feedback and thrives in 1:1 content development
• Ability to craft metaphor-rich, narrative-driven content without sacrificing clarity or factual accuracy
• A demonstrated passion for writing—this is more than a job for you
• Confidence writing edgy or divisive content that challenges the status quo
• A clear interest in alternative medicine, holistic health, or patient advocacy, especially in the context of cancer research
• A preference for narrative-first writing that's compelling and engaging over formulaic or SEO-structured formats

Nice to Have

• Experience growing and monetizing newsletters, including:
  • Advising on ad sponsorships and partnership opportunities
  • Supporting general newsletter operations, planning, and strategy

• Light graphic design or content formatting experience (e.g., Canva, Loom visuals)
