Barber/Stylist Position Overview: Barbers provide hair, beard grooming, and shave services. Barbers are responsible for explaining the value of the membership programs, executing all mandated sanitation protocols, sterilizing implements, and maintaining a clean, sterile workstation always. The ideal applicant must be outgoing, cheerful, engaging, energetic, and resourceful. Barbers use a variety of tools, some of these implements are sharp, including scissors, clippers, straight razors, safety razors and specialized hair coloring tools. Staying focused on their work and keeping their tools clean and sanitary is of vital importance. Reports to: Owner, Shop Manager, or Assistant Manager. Benefits: Option to enroll in 401(k). Applicants will not be required to rent their individual stations. Hattori Hanzo shears and thinning shears will be provided. Fun working environment. Eligible to earn commissions, bonuses, and tips. Overview: The Barber performs hair grooming services for our clients. They must demonstrate excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills. They must possess excellent communication skills. They must hold and maintain a current state license as required. Qualifications: Full-time availability Thursday-Monday, hours vary depending on the needs of the business. Ability to work in a dynamic shop environment. Supply and maintain professional tools in working order and free of rust- Electric hair clippers, shears/scissors, and straight/safety razors. Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and clients. Barber must have at least one year of professional experience, Master Barber should have a minimum of 5 years or an MB license.  Essential Functions include: Perform hair grooming services for each client. Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the shop’s policies and procedures. Recommend future visits as well as retail. Ensure clients feel welcome when they arrive for their appointments. Maintain shop appearance and cleanliness. Stock and maintain stations according to standard operating procedures. Promote and up-sell products and services. Ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the shop. Assist with washing and folding of all linens used in the shop. Arrive prior to the start of the shift with enough time to prepare for the day. Maintain and increase knowledge of product lines by attending new product promotions, in-house instruction, and education/training classes. Assist in all areas of shop operation as requested by management.
