**Job Description** **UW Medicine** has outstanding opportunities for Nurse Technicians at our **Harborview Medical Center** location. Clinical areas requesting Nurse Techs could include med-surg, oncology, neurology, cardiology, rehab, behavioral health, surgical, progressive care, ICU, emergency and transitional care. **START DATE/ORIENTATION:** + Harborview Medical Center - February 4, 2026 **ORIENTATION SCHEDULE:** If you are offered a position, there is a required initial two session class orientation. + Day One (February 4, 2026): New Employee Orientation - 2:30pm-8:00pm In-Person + Day Two: Specialized Nurse Tech EPIC training & access - 3pm-6pm Virtual **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in providing direct care, collect and document data gathered during the delivery of care and communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN. + Collaborate with the other disciplines as appropriate to provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge. + Perform a variety of tasks including transporting patients, supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking supplies; and ensuring patient safety through monitoring and assessment, safe patient mobilization and hygiene activities. **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:** + Must be currently enrollment in a Washington State Board of Nursing approved Nursing Education Program and have at least 6 months to work prior to graduation. + Must have completed at least one clinical rotation by the start of Orientation. + BLS certification, resume, one clinical evaluation, and completed school Skills Checklist are required. + Be available to work a minimum of 1 day per week (some units require more). **ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER** As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
