Job Description and Duties

Conducts maintenance, inspection, and repair of standard plumbing equipment concerned with water, gas, oil, sewage, fire control, steam and refrigeration systems.

Directs, inspects and assists Plumbers and other staff assigned in the maintenance and repair of the plumbing systems throughout the facility.  Maintains an active preventive maintenance program on the various systems in his/her area of responsibility; estimates project and job costs; requisitions and orders tools, materials, equipment and supplies. Makes sure that projects are completed according to plans and specifications; sees that health and safety regulations are complied with; keeps records and makes reports; maintains a valid work order system; does other work as required and conforms to all Administrative Directives (A.D.’s).

This positions work assignment is Saturday - Wednesday.  The candidate selected will be required to work weekends as a part of their regular scheduled work week.

Working Conditions

Physical labor is an essential component in remedy of most Plant Operations related conditions.  In this working role, the incumbent must be physically capable of demonstrating proper technique, performing work in the absence of subordinates, and personally performing the more complex or sensitive technical tasks.  At minimum, this requires full range of body motion to access work locations.  The incumbent must be able to go up and down stairs and ladders, and traverse crawl spaces under buildings and above ceilings, and descend into excavations bringing with his or her the tools and supplies necessary to repair the system being serviced.

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

Employees applying for the positon who wish to be considered on a transfer basis must meet the minimum qualifications for the classification per DPA Rule 250.  You may be required to provide copies of your Training and Development Assignment or Out of Class Experience verification (approved and documented in your departments Personnel Office)), college transcripts or a copy of your degree if applicable
