Position Summary

When the customer receives their package this is the start of their Heath experience and there is only one chance to make the right first impression.  The packing should look professional, neat, and not overpacked.  The box should be easy to open and the products should be easily accessible.  Boxes should also be easy to lift, by both the packer and the customer.  All packing materials should also be recyclable. Most importantly, a package should arrive to the customer with the correct items that are not broken or damaged in any way.

The primary responsibilities for this position are picking, packing and shipping for customer order fulfillment. The job requires the ability to read and write English, have basic math and computer skills and the ability and interest to learn new computer systems. Previous shipping experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow written production/shipping instructions
• Record production information on orders with basic data
• Properly identify and pick products to fulfill customer orders
• Process pick lists, delivery notes and other actions as needed in SAP
• Ship orders utilizing NetSuite, WorldShip, FedEx for both ground and freight palletized shipments.
• Assist with and help maintain first quality dinnerware inventory
• Put first quality dinnerware in correct inventory shelf areas
• Accurately select, pack, palletize, stage, ship and/or load customer orders for delivery of product to customers without damage or errors
• Operate forklift, as-needed

• Desire to work in a warehouse environment 
• Excellent people skills: must be patient, flexible, and calm
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Proficiency with basic Mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Effective interaction with all departments and employees
• Excellent attention to detail
• Respect safety rules

Physical Requirements (Medium to Heavy)

• The ability to transport finished goods (up to 30 lbs. at a time). Total weight lifted per day can be 3500 to 5000 lbs.
• Other activities, including climbing, balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, repetitive motion, grasping, and feeling.                   

Visual Acuity Requirements (including color, depth perception, and field vision)

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and inspecting shipments; visual inspection involving small defects, small objects, and/or operation of packaging equipment (including inspection); using measurement devices; and visual checks of materials and machinery (dimensions, weight). The worker will also need visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Shipping may require a color blindness 

Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation

This position is a full-time, non-exempt hourly Union role that works from our Warehouse in The Mission District, SF. This position is onsite full-time. This position pays $25/ hourly. The working hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. This position reports to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager.
