THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is looking for a friendly, motivated individual to deliver outstanding customer care in the fast-paced environment of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3, you will supervise, manage, and direct activities in our state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits store. Duties include supervising a shift, participating in a variety of sales activities including receiving shipments, stocking products, and providing excellent service to all customers in a clean and safe store environment. Throughout operations, you will assign and inspect the work of liquor store employees and instruct them in the proper application of policies and procedures. You will have the opportunity to assist General Managers, who are accountable for the entire store operation which includes sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records, and all related functions.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 2 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1B; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A; or
  • Three years as a Liquor Store Clerk 2; or
  • Three years of lead or supervisory retail sales work.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
