Fixed Prep Technician 1

Contract to hire

Andover MA

7:00am to 3:30pm M-F

Summary
Prepare dental models and components for fixed wire bending including carving out teeth, placing bands, and other preparation steps. Support the accuracy and quality of fixed appliances as necessary as necessary to ensure optimal fit, function, and appliance integrity.



Your daily activities will include:

• Inspect and prepare 3D printed models for following assembly steps, including carving and banding
• Mount models on articulators or bases as required
• Work with hand tools, drills, saws, and X-ACTO knives
• Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standards
• Record production information and track work progress
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals
• Average 30 – 50 cases per day

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications, and small print for assemblies
• Ability to use hand and semi-automatic tools including but not limited to: pliers, hand drills, and X-ACTO knives
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in a stationary, sitting position for several hours at a time
• Ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications, and small print for assemblies
• Ability to multi-task with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous manufacturing experience in a dental, orthodontic, or medical setting is preferred
• Familiarity with orthodontic or dental terminology a plus
• Background check is required
